City Rooms: Made In Singapore (The Book)
I'm printing a book and you can get it at cost*
*Unfortunately, “at cost” is still going to be pricey. Get one anyway!
Dear readers,
For a handful of reasons, I’m putting together a book that compiles many of the diagrams and essays I wrote on the topic of city rooms. It’s a totally independent thing…with a self-registered ISBN and all of the formatting etc. done by me. The first batch will be sent out for printing in a couple days.
If you would like a copy, simply reply to this email or send me a quick note at jamescarrico@substack.com with your shipping address. (Only U.S.A. for this round.)
OK but how much?
Here’s the fun part. I can’t make a penny in profit off of these, so I’ll only need to cover printing costs plus shipping. But the printing service that I’m using (Blurb) is not exactly cheap when it comes to 163-page 8”x10” hardcovers. The cost is going to be around $120 per book. (I will send final receipt from Blurb and exact cost to anyone who orders.) I think that’s simply the reality of independent publishing at this small scale. The quality should be pretty good, though.
Some other things to note:
Will probably be delivered to you by late June or July
But I’ll need you to Venmo or otherwise send the cost for your copy(ies) before I send for printing.
There won’t be much content in this book that isn’t already freely available on the Substack
The book is for research/educational purposes only and not for resale or distribution
I’m really selling it, I know! Anyway, let me know if you’re interested. And have a lovely rest of your Memorial Day Weekend. We have just about perfect weather here in Boston, of which I get to enjoy none since I’m in my apartment finishing up City Rooms: Made in Singapore. Go out and get some sun for me.
